The Open Build is built on radical transparency and a genuine commitment to human dignity. That commitment extends to how I handle information about the people who visit this site and choose to support this work. I collect the minimum information necessary, I do not sell it, I do not share it with advertisers, and I am honest about what I have and why.
This policy is written in plain language because you deserve to understand it. It governs the collection and use of information at theopenbuild.org and any associated services operated under The Open Build.
Notification subscriptions. If you choose to subscribe to Build Record updates, I collect your email address and optionally your phone number. You select which ventures and products you want to hear about. I use this information only to send the updates you requested. I do not use it for any other purpose.
Contributions. When you make a contribution through Stripe, PayPal, or Coinbase Commerce, the payment is processed entirely by those third-party providers. I receive confirmation that a contribution was made and the amount. I do not receive, store, or have access to your payment card details, bank information, or cryptocurrency wallet information. Each payment provider's own privacy policy governs their handling of your payment data.
Analytics. This site uses Cloudflare Analytics and self-hosted PostHog to understand how people use the site. These tools collect anonymized, aggregated data including page views, session duration, and general geographic region. I do not use Google Analytics. No individual visitor profiles are created. No data is sold or shared with advertising platforms.
Contact. If you contact me by email, I retain that correspondence to respond to you. I do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.
This site uses only functional cookies necessary for the site to operate. I do not use cookies for advertising, tracking, or behavioral profiling. I implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information I hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.
I retain notification subscription data for as long as you remain subscribed. You may unsubscribe and request deletion of your data at any time by contacting hadjirtruth@theopenbuild.org. Contact correspondence is retained for a reasonable period to handle any follow-up inquiries and is then deleted.
You have the right to know what information I hold about you, to request correction of inaccurate information, to request deletion of your information, and to withdraw consent for communications at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact me at hadjirtruth@theopenbuild.org. I will respond within 30 days.
